The Lancashire Combined Fire Authority has now set out its Best Value Performance Plan for 2008/09.
What is the Best Value Performance Plan 2008/09?
The Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act made provision to abolish Best Value Performance Indicators from the 31st March 2008 for all designated Best Value Authorities including Fire and Rescue Authorities. As per guidance in Fire Service Circular 9/2008, however, there remains a residual duty to publish final verified indicators for 2006-07 together with the Authority’s own provisional outcome indicators for 2007-08.
Looking forwards, the Authority has introduced a new set of nineteen Key Performance Indicators to replace the now obsolete BVPI’s and this new indicator set will form the framework for future performance reporting to the Authority. Details of this indicator set together with relevant milestones and targets for the period up until March 2011 are contained within section 4 of the Authority’s Risk Management Plan which can be accessed at: www.lancsfire.gov.uk/Section4.pdf
