In order to help us understand the distribution of risk, detailed district profiles are produced for each of the 14 districts in Lancashire. A risk reduction plan is then compiled for each district. In this way we are able to focus on local problems, offer local solutions, maximise collaborative working with a wide range of other agencies and reinforce our commitment to locally organised bodies such as Crime and Disorder and Local Strategic Partnerships.
Each district profile uses the lower layer super output area* level of geography as the basic building block upon which the profile and risk reduction plan is produced. This enables an assessment of activity within each of the 301 wards in Lancashire to be made against key performance indicators and allow effective risk based targeting to be undertaken.
